Passage: Ephesians 3:20-21
This morning’s passage concludes the first half of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, which contains some of the most sublime thinking on the nature and work of the church in all of scripture. This passage also wraps up Paul’s prayer for power for the Ephesian Christians. We have been looking at that prayer for the past three weeks and everything we have seen in the prayer forces us to ask a really important question: Why pray? The things Paul says and asks for in this prayer are great, but why should we think that a prayer like that will be answered? The answer to that question is found, not only in the very structure of Paul’s prayer but in the content of the doxology which we will consider today.
