Passage: Ephesians 5:15-21
There are two ways for us to consider and “locate” this morning’s text within Paul’s presentation to the Christians in Ephesians. The first is to see this as a continuation of a long argument, beginning all the way back in 4:1 which sets forth the fact that the lives of believers should differ significantly from those in the surrounding unbelieving culture. The second is to see today’s text as the beginning of another lengthy passage that runs all the way through 6:9 generally describing how we should live within the Christian household. Either way, the passage we will be considering is clear in its emphasis: in light of the evil age in which we live, it is imperative that Christians live skillfully (wisely) so as to continue walking in light.
