Passage: Ephesians 4:1-3
The structure of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is pretty straight-forward: chapters 1-3 talk about all that God has done for us in Christ while chapters 4-6 tell us how to live in light of God’s grace. This is the practical, life-application section of Ephesians, and this morning, we start to consider Paul’s exhortation to the church. We tend to read scripture as if it were written to each of us individually, and there is certainly reason to do just that. But Paul has been setting forth the highest and most in-depth view of the church in all of the New Testament. These instructions are not just to make us better Christians, but to help us to live and function well in community. This can be clearly seen in the passage we are studying together today.
