Passage: 1 John 2:24-29
Ask the average person on the street today and they will tell you that truth is relative. What this means is that what is true for one person many not be true for another. What happens when this line of thinking invades the church? Often, what is being sold as truth can look like truth and sound like truth, but how do we evaluate what we see and hear to determine if it is THE TRUTH? The apostle John, in 1 John 2:24-29, reminds us that God has given the church helps to discern truth from error. In a day and age when the church universal seems confused about the truth, we need to utilize these helps so that we can discern what the truth is and what it is not.
