Passage: Proverbs 18:21
The book of Proverbs extensively addresses the topic of the tongue. Every one of us knows that words can be used to heal and to harm, to build up and to tear down. As the body of Christ, we are called to yield control of our speech to the Holy Spirit and speak in such a way that God is glorified and people are encouraged. Yet too often, the speech that takes place among Christians is not substantially different from what we hear from the rest of the world. How can we be sure to control our tongues and use them for good rather than to hurt?
