Passage: Ephesians 2:19-22
This morning’s message is the third covering 2:11-22 where Paul describes the unity believers now have with one another as a result of Christ’s redeeming work. In today’s text, he uses three metaphors to describe the significance of the church, this new people of God made up of Jews and Gentiles who are now united because of their common faith. To say the least, Paul has an incredibly high view of the church, and so should we. The church is God’s plan for God’s people to carry out God’s purposes in God’s world. Not only is solo Christianity not a biblical option, when we consider what the church really is, we would be foolish not to be a part of it.
