Passage: Ephesians 3:17b-19
This morning, we will wrap up our study into the form and content of Paul’s second prayer recorded in his letter to the church at Ephesus. So far, we have introduced this prayer by looking at Paul’s reason, attitude, direction, and sanction for praying this way for the Ephesians. Last week, we saw that the essence of Paul’s prayer was a request for divine power to strengthen his readers spiritually. This week, we will see how that prayer for strength was a necessary precursor to his prayer for spiritual maturity. But this maturity would come, not primarily through acts of religious devotion, but by each believer beginning to understand and experience the immeasurable love that God has for them.
