Passage: Ephesians 6:15
It is somewhat surprising that the vast majority of “weapons” provided as part of the Christian’s spiritual armor are actually defensive in nature (6 of 7). This is because our main function in the battle is to stand firm, to resist, and to hold onto the ground we have already captured. Absolutely essential in the task is good footing and this morning we consider the shoes of the soldier. Notice from the text that these shoes are not the gospel itself, but the readiness that is given by the gospel of peace. We need to consider that it means to refer to the gospel as the “gospel of peace” and how we are to “put on” the readiness that very gospel provides.
