Passage: Ephesians 6:14a
When we last left off in our study through Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus, we began to consider the reality of spiritual warfare. We saw that if we are true followers of Jesus Christ, we are engaged in a war and that our real enemy is not flesh and blood but Satan and his demonic forces that seek to opposes God and his kingdom at every turn. This morning, we begin a study of each piece of the spiritual armor of God that has been provided to the believer for his or her protection in the battle. We start with the belt, an element that at first glance appears peripheral to our warfare. But as we will see, the belt is essential for our readiness for battle, and that readiness must be grounded in the truth of the gospel and the truthfulness that is displayed in our lives.
