We are taking a break from our sermon series in Ephesians to celebrate what the church has traditionally called Holy Week. The Sunday before Easter is normally set aside to recall Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This morning, we will start with Palm Sunday and work our way through the final week of Jesus’s earthly life before his resurrection. We will focus on four key events: the triumphal entry; the last supper with his disciples; his garden prayer and betrayal; and the crucifixion. Throughout it all, we must remember that Jesus was no victim of his circumstances. He was in control of his destiny from first to last and nothing would prevent him from accomplishing the mission given to him by his Father.
