Passage: Colossians 3:1-11
Often times, when we travel to the cities where we grew up, we encounter people who “knew us when”. They remember us for what we “used” to do and say and for the places we “used” to go; this is often true of family members. More often than not, old friends and family members see us for who we “were” not for who we are “now”. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have been radically changed from the inside out. We have been given a new nature and a new life that is in Christ. But the question before us today is simply this, “Are we living our lives based on our past experiences and who we used to be or are we living based on our present reality and who we are in Jesus Christ?”
